Whitewater Center
Community entrance to joy of extreme sports
Artificial whitewater is not something new: the first courses are dating back to 1972, the Eiskanal in Ausburg, Germany. Since then more and more courses have been built. And it is important to note, that they went through quite an evolution from very specific facilities dedicated to Olympic Whitewater Slalom to multi-sport 200+ acres recreational facilities, like National Whitewater Center, Charlotte, NC.
This site is dedicated to bringing a similar experience to Arizona. All-year warm weather and an impressive number of tourists visiting the Greater Phoenix area allow for a great foundation for this facility to be another anchor of outdoor recreation. A strong economy and growing population make it feasible. Hundreds of people enjoying kayaking and tubing on the banks of the Salt River and surrounding lakes can build a strong community to support the Whitewater center.
We are building a non-profit organization to work on the project for the development of a whitewater center and make the joy of the rapids available at our doorstep.
